Henry Conway is a 27 year old party promoter, author and fashion journalist.
He is noted for his fashion and occasionally appears in London papers when his outfits are particularly outrageous – he wear such fashion as cravats and peacock-feather headdresses for example.
Some enjoy his fashion:
“a dandy, always flamboyantly dressed.” – The Independent
And others don’t:
“going way past the mark of being too flamboyant”. – GQ, Top 29 Worst-Dressed Men 2009
Scandal
There’s an ongoing investigation into whether his father, MP Derek Conway, paid him improperly from public funds – which cost him his seat as a member of Parliament.
Conway has come at it from another point of view saying in his fashion column for SuperSuper magazine, “Where there’s muck, there’s brass.” – and socialising with the likes of Prince William and Harry on his Thursday night event at Mayfair club Mahiki this would seem to be the case.
In 2007 he held a party which received national and international press attention, the theme was “Fuck Off I’m Rich”.
The news is that Henry is going to be soon debuting a Friday night party at Bungalow 8 called Royal Jelly.
Adding to his achievements Conway is also the co-author of a book on the history of knitwear and appears as a fashion expert on highbrow arts programs for the BBC.
He says there isn’t a conflict between his role as a budding public intellectual and private party host:
Tweet“I think you do have to experience life to be able to judge it and pass judgement on it.”
